In the next few minutes you will be able to quickly renew your vehicle registration. You must be a current Sumner County resident to renew on this site. Your order will be processed within one business day of receipt. Please allow two to three days for postal delivery. If you need faster processing please visit the Sumner County Clerk's Office at either the Gallatin or Hendersonville location.
Not all plates can be processed on-line. Your vehicle must be verified on the local county computer system. This may prevent some transactions from being processed. If you have a special class of plate that requires proof of membership, you can not renew on-line.
The processing fee is 2% of the total plate cost plus $1.00. You will also pay the regular mail fee ($1 for decals or $2 for plates.) Some e-mail filters can prevent you from receiving the confirmation e-mail. To process your renewal on-line, you will need the following:
- Valid credit or debit card (VISA or MasterCard)
- License plate and title number (This information can be found on either your current registration or state renewal notice)
- Your vehicle must have passed the emission test (Over-weight vehicles (GVWR 10,500 and above) are required to submit a signed Inspection Exemption form and must renew by mail or in person)
- Your plate's expiration date can not be more than 90 days away.
